Cloud migration in Cyprus — planned, not gambled

Move to AWS, Azure or GCP — or off Broadcom-era VMware to Proxmox — with a plan, a rollback and a cost model, not a weekend of hope.

Get a migration plan

UpSystems plans and runs cloud and VMware migrations for companies in Cyprus and for international teams. From Limassol we move workloads to AWS, Azure, GCP, Hetzner or on-prem, and run VMware to Proxmox migrations for teams leaving Broadcom-era licensing — each with a dependency map, a staged cutover and a rollback at every step. Part of our DevOps outsourcing, from €500/month.

What's included

Discovery: dependency mapping and a migration-readiness assessment
Target architecture and a written cost model before you commit
Lift-and-shift, re-platform or re-architect — per workload
Staged cutover with rollback at each step, not a big-bang weekend
Data and database migration (AWS DMS, Azure Database Migration Service) with validation and a tested restore
Infrastructure as Code for the target so it is reproducible
Post-migration cost and performance tuning
VMware to Proxmox migration and other hypervisor exits

Cloud migration — FAQ

Lift-and-shift or re-architect?+

It depends on the workload and your timeline. Lift-and-shift is fastest and lowest-risk but carries old inefficiencies; re-architecting unlocks cloud-native savings but costs more upfront. We assess per application rather than applying one strategy to everything.

Do you migrate VMware to Proxmox?+

Yes — it is one of our most common migrations right now. We move VMs off Broadcom-era VMware to Proxmox (or to cloud), handle storage, networking and the things that do not transfer cleanly, and cut over in slices with a rollback. We have written about what actually moves and what breaks.

Can you help us LEAVE a cloud or VMware, not just join one?+

Yes — a lot of our migration work is exits: off Broadcom-era VMware to Proxmox or cloud, or repatriating from a cloud that got expensive. We have written about what actually moves and what breaks.

How do you avoid a cutover disaster?+

Staged cutover with a rollback at each step, data validated before the switch, and a tested restore. We migrate in slices so a problem affects one workload, not the whole business.

Will it actually save money?+

Only if it is modelled honestly. We build a cost model before committing — including egress and managed-service pricing — so the decision is based on numbers, not a vendor slide. Sometimes the answer is to stay or repatriate.

What does it cost?+

Migration is scoped per project; ongoing operation runs from €500/month. See pricing.

What tools do you use for the actual move?+

The right ones for the target, not a single favourite. For cloud moves that often means Azure Migrate for assessment and server migration into Azure, AWS DMS (Database Migration Service) for databases, Terraform and Ansible to build the target as code, and replication or restic/rsync for data — each chosen per workload and validated with a tested restore before cutover.

Migration you can't afford to fumble?

We plan the move, model the cost, and cut over in slices with a rollback at every step. €65/hour, fixed-scope.
